Category : Blog

Nowadays more and more school-leavers are entering higher educational establishments and the number of talented and ambitious graduates is growing as well. Besides knowing how to interpret Shakespeare or coding a website, in a little time you are to owe some personal skills which may be useful for your future profession.

The importance of non-technical and not theoretical skills is becoming more and more widespread. Soft, or interpersonal skills are necessary for your teamwork and struggle in work. Employers pay much attention to what kind of person you are as well. They mostly want to check your soft skills during the interview but you can also mention them in your CV, in the proper way of course.

Communication

Communication is even more than important for an employer, so you should be well-prepared. Both verbal and written communication should be at the high level. So check your CV, profiles for several times, as the employer can look through them and check whether you communicate in the polite and friendly way.
Being at the interview keep calm, don`t speak too quickly and if you think you haven`t answer to some questions in the best way, you can always add what you want. Stay polite and patient.

Problem Solving

The ability to save problems in the proper way plays a big role for an employer, so if you are asked about the real situation from your life, you`d better find the best example and tell how thoughtfully you were. Telling that you didn`t have any issues to solve sounds not real. We all face lots of difficulties on our studying way, so try to recall some problems which you managed to solve successfully.

Teamwork

You will need to work in team at any company and very often employers may ask about your teamwork, how you cooperated with others, how you worked together. It doesn`t matter that they want to hear that you used to be a leader, but you just need to show that you can work with others successfully and do your part of the job in the proper way.
If you realize, that you can`t be a good team leader, then don`t make up any stories, just show your personal positive qualities. For instance, you can be a good time manager or something else. Show who you are for real.

Working under pressure

Sometimes you will face hard times at work and you should show that you are strong and confident enough to cope with the difficulties. You have already done this while being at university. So show that you are not a kind of a stressful person, show that you can pull yourself together and manage all the difficulties.

Flexibility

Sometimes you may need to work extra hours, or help with the project you know nothing about and you are to show your employer that you can do this. You should show yourself as a flexible person who can spend extra hours to finish the project. So if you are asked whether you can scarify something to complete the work, your answer should be positive!

If you have graduated the university, you are to be aware of these soft skills. You get them alongside with studying at the university, coping with some difficulties and working with your groupmates on some projects. You shouldn`t lie and list only positive features which you have found somewhere on the Internet but be yourself, don`t forget about your personal experience and good qualities. If you want to get the position, you will overcome all difficulties on your way!
